Transpec Ltd acquires The Airbrake Centre

Truck and trailer parts specialist, Transpec Ltd has announced the acquisition of The Airbrake Centre Ltd, one of Ireland’s leading suppliers of airbrake components for the heavy-duty vehicle and coach sector.

As part of the agreement, BPW-owned Transpec Ltd will acquire The Airbrake Centre’s premises near Dublin Airport in Swords, representing a strategic opportunity to expand its national reach and service capabilities.

Transpec managing director, Richard Sheehan said the acquisition marks “an exciting new chapter for both companies – combining decades of expertise, exceptional customer service, and a shared commitment to quality”.

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome The Airbrake Centre to the BPW Aftermarket Group and to become part of the Transpec network in Ireland,” he added.

Sheehan also confirmed that co-founder and technical lead, Charlie Darbey will continue in his role at the Airbrake Centre, and that its existing staff members “will also remain with the business”.

Co-founder and warehouse manager, Ray Johnson will retire as part of the transition.

“We extend our sincere thanks [to Ray] for his outstanding contribution over the years,” added Sheehan.
