New HGV technician training course launched in Leicestershire

Logistics UK, a government‑approved apprenticeship provider, has launched a new partnership with Loughborough College Group’s Stephenson College, with the aim of boosting the number of HGV technicians entering the transport sector.

The collaboration will deliver Level 3 HGV Technician Apprenticeships at the college based in Coalville, Leicestershire, which was recently named a Centre of Excellence for technical and professional training.

Stephenson College – an apprenticeship provider with more than a century of experience in technical education – offers training across motor vehicle, HGV, forklift engineering, motorsport and other sectors, supported by longstanding industry partnerships.

David Jordan, deputy operations director at Logistics UK said the new partnership with Stephenson College “will ensure that our learners can take advantage of the very latest technological developments in heavy vehicle maintenance”.

Jonny Watkin, principal of Stephenson College added: “Our new partnership with Logistics UK to deliver the Level 3 HGV Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship reflects our shared commitment to developing a highly skilled workforce for the sector.
