Duel in-ground brake tester installation for Boleyn Recovery

London-based Boleyn Recovery has further strengthened its workshop operations with the installation of two in-ground brake testers from Totalkare.

The new equipment has been installed across two separate service bays, following a complete groundworks project delivered by Totalkare from start to finish.

Operating a demanding and varied fleet, the company places strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and rapid response. The investment allows Boleyn Recovery to carry out fast, accurate, and DVSA-compliant brake testing in-house, supporting the demanding operational requirements of a busy recovery fleet.

As part of the project, Totalkare provided a full turnkey solution, undertaking all associated groundworks prior to installation. This included excavating the workshop floor, preparing the foundations, and installing the in-ground brake testers flush with the surface, ensuring seamless integration into both bays.

By managing the project in its entirety, Totalkare minimised disruption to Boleyn Recovery’s day-to-day operations while delivering a clean, professional finish ready for immediate use.

The Totalkare in-ground brake testers are DVSA-approved and designed to accommodate a wide range of vehicle types, including heavier commercial and recovery vehicles. With the brake testers permanently installed at floor level, vehicles can be driven directly into position, speeding up testing while maintaining a safe and efficient workflow.

“Replacing the old in-ground brake testers with two new modern and reliable testers has increased our capacity and confidence allowing us to increase support to our customers,” said Jim Parker, managing director at Boleyn Recovery.

“Totalkare handled everything from removing the old equipment and digging out the bays to installing the equipment, calibrating it and training our staff. This single supplier solution made the whole process straightforward and efficient, whilst providing a major upgrade for our workshop.”
