The Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness (Vehicle Testing) (Amendment) Regulations 2020 were signed by the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport on 20 April 2020 and come into effect immediately. 

The Road Safety Authority (RSA) is engaging in a strategic review of the Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Testing (CVRT) System.The review, which will be conducted by BearingPoint will consider a number aspects of CVRT including: assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the current testing arrangements in relation to road safety, quality and consistency of testing, service quality,
