Ferodo strengthens European aftermarket braking programme

Ferodo remains one of the best-established braking brands in the European aftermarket, combining more than a century of friction expertise with a comprehensive programme covering passenger cars, vans and commercial vehicles.

A major strength of the Ferodo proposition is its Original Equipment pedigree. The company says Ferodo is factory-fitted on eight of Europe’s 10 top-selling vehicles, while its brake products are developed and tested through European R&D and testing facilities.

For the independent aftermarket, Ferodo has developed a genuine complete braking programme. For light vehicles it includes brake pads, discs, calipers, shoes and Maxi Kits, hydraulics, brake fluids, cables, drums, wear indicators and associated accessories. This gives motor factors and workshops the opportunity to source much of the braking system from a single premium brand.

Brake pads remain at the heart of the range. Ferodo currently claims approximately 98 per cent European car-parc coverage for brake pads, while an ongoing New Product Introduction programme is designed to bring applications for newly launched vehicles into the aftermarket quickly.

Technology is increasingly important. Ferodo Eco-Friction uses low- or zero-copper formulations developed to reduce heavy metals and particulate emissions while maintaining braking performance. The technology is suitable for conventional, hybrid and electric vehicles.

Another significant development is FUSE+ Technology, engineered to combine the characteristics of performance-oriented European friction materials with the comfort associated with other formulations. Ferodo says FUSE+ offers reduced noise and wheel dust together with improved pad and disc durability, while retaining its zero-copper Eco-Friction technology.

Ferodo also offers dedicated solutions for electric and hybrid vehicles, light commercial vehicles and heavy commercial applications. Its CV portfolio includes pads, discs, brake linings, drums, wear indicators and accessories.

For European factors and workshops, Ferodo’s appeal is therefore about more than brand heritage. Wide vehicle coverage, OE experience, environmental innovation and an extensive system-based product range make it one of the strongest premium braking programmes in today’s independent aftermarket.
