Mitsubishi Motors makes return to Northern Ireland

Mitsubishi Motors has made a return to Northern Ireland through privately owned vehicle retailer Donnelly Group, with commercial vehicle sales reintroduced at its Mallusk site.

The announcement concludes the phased reintroduction of Mitsubishi Motors to the UK market by importer International Motors Ltd (IML).

Mitsubishi Motors withdrew from selling new cars across Europe in 2020, becoming an aftersales only business to ensure the upkeep of its existing models.

Mitsubishi Motors Ireland, which is part of the Frank Keane Group, continues to operate as an authorised aftersales provider only due to the EU’s national approval requirements which differ from those in the UK.

“Mitsubishi’s return to the UK market is hugely important for Northern Ireland, particularly for our commercial sector,” said Eddie Black, site director at Donnelly Group Mallusk.

“Many of our customers work in agriculture, construction and other hands on industries where endurance and durability are essential.”
