Dawsongroup to acquire Dan Ryan Truck Rental

Asset leasing group Dawsongroup has entered into a binding agreement to acquire Dan Ryan Truck Rental as part of its strategy to expand beyond the UK and build a broader European presence.

Founded in 1974, Dan Ryan Truck Rental is Ireland’s longest-established commercial truck and van rental, leasing and contract-hire business.

Dawsongroup said the acquisition will provide the business with an established platform in Ireland and support its entry into new market areas.

Dan Ryan Truck Rental will continue operating under its existing brand and as a separate business within the Dawsongroup.

Malcolm Wilson, CEO of Dawsongroup, said: “The acquisition provides Dawsongroup with a high-quality and well-established platform in Ireland and represents an important step in our growth strategy, allowing Dawsongroup to enter several new market areas.”

“It will also allow us to broaden the range of products and services we offer our customers in Ireland.”

The transaction remains subject to customary regulatory approvals.
