MAN introduces new eTGM mid-range truck

MAN Truck & Bus is expanding its all-electric truck portfolio with the introduction of the new eTGM, set to be a key component in the mid-range distribution segment.

Launched this week at Transpotec in Milan, the new 16-tonne truck has a claimed range of up to 480km and closes the gap between the lightweight MAN eTGL and the heavy-duty eTGX and eTGS series.

For the first time, MAN says it is offering a consistent, uniform eTruck portfolio of 12- to 50-tonnes based on a modular, cross-series technology concept.

With its permissible gross weight of 16.01 tonnes (optionally 16.5 tonnes) and a chassis payload of up to around 10.6 tonnes, the MAN eTGM offers significant reserves for a wide range of bodies.

The MAN eTGM is designed to meet the requirements of urban and regional distribution transport. Rising energy prices, stricter emission regulations and increasing noise restrictions make electrically powered commercial vehicles an economically and ecologically attractive alternative, especially in inner-city use.

“With the MAN eTGM, we are putting the ideal electric solution for inner-city and regional distribution transport on the road right now,” said Friedrich Baumann, member of the executive board for sales and customer solutions at MAN Truck & Bus.

“It is the logical conclusion to our eTruck portfolio and makes MAN a true full-range supplier of battery-electric commercial vehicles,” he added.
