LCV sales continue to rise ahead of 271 Vans for Business EXPO

Light commercial vehicle (LCV) registrations in Ireland have increased by 7.4 per cent (31,915) for the year-to-date, while September 2026 alone saw a 7.3 per cent rise (2,318) compared to the same month last year (2,159).

Ireland’s electric van market also continues to gain confidence, with registrations for the year-to-date up 16.56 per cent (1,696) while September 2026 registrations increased by just under 80 per cent (192) on September 2025.

These positive figures, released today by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI), come less than 10 days before the inaugural 271 Vans for Business EXPO, which takes place in conjunction with the now established CV Workshop EXPO at the RDS Simmonscourt in Dublin from 10th -11th October.

The 271 Vans for Business EXPO is the only opportunity for distributors and dealers to showcase their light commercial vehicle ranges to Ireland’s automotive aftermarket trade.

Some 15 LCV brands have so far signed up, including Mercedes-Benz, Farizon, Toyota, Opel, Citroen, Ford, Renault, Kia, Nissan, Maxus, Isuzu, KGM, Skywell, Ineos, and Renault Trucks.

The wider 2026 CV Workshop EXPO and Auto Trade EXPO will feature more than 260 trade stands in Hall 8 of the RDS Simmonscourt.

At the 2024 EXPO, some 8,200 trade visitors poured through the doors over the weekend, and with the addition of the 271 Vans for Business EXPO taking place directly in front of the venue, an even larger attendance is anticipated.
