E-optimised Kogel Light Plus wins International Trailer Award

Kogel Trailer GmbH has won the International Trailer Award 2027 for its e-optimised Kogel Light Plus, which took first place in the chassis category.

The 14-member jury of European trade journalists particularly recognised the trailer’s “consistent adaptation to the specific weight distribution of electric tractor units”.

The jury also highlighted the resulting potential for higher payload and better utilisation of the complete vehicle combination, as well as the combination of electrification and trailer engineering.

“The vehicle clearly demonstrates where trailer development needs to go,” said Philipp Bönders, chairman of the ITA jury. “Kogel has addressed a specific challenge with a practical engineering solution. The combination of technical benefits, economic efficiency and suitability for everyday operation makes this innovation a worthy winner in the chassis category.”

Horizon Trailers, the exclusive distributor of Kogel’s trailers in Ireland, will be exhibiting at the 271 Truck & Trailer EXPO, which takes place alongside the 2026 CV Workshop EXPO at the RDS Simmonscourt in Dublin from 10th -11th October.
