New Renault Trucks powertrain boosts fuel efficiency by up to four per cent

Renault Trucks is upgrading the powertrain of its T, T High, C and K ranges with the introduction of a new DE13 R engine and a new generation of Opti driver gearboxes.

According to the manufacturer, these developments reduce fuel consumption by up to four per cent and also reduces CO₂ emissions compared with the previous generation.

Compatible with HVO and B100 renewable fuels, this new powertrain also improves vehicle performance and driving comfort.

“The decarbonisation of road transport relies on several complementary levers,” said Antoine Duclaux, president of Renault Trucks.

“Alongside the acceleration of the development of our electric offer, we continue to improve the energy efficiency of our combustion-engine vehicles in order to help our customers reduce their fuel consumption, CO₂ emissions and total cost of ownership from today. This new powertrain is a concrete illustration of this approach,” he added.
