Horizon Trailers exclusive distributor of Kogel Trailers for Ireland and UK
Kogel Trailer GmbH has just announced an exclusive sales partnership with Dublin-based Horizon Trailers, established in 2024, to exclusively distribute Kogel’s premium trailers in Ireland and the UK.
Together, the two companies aim to establish the Kogel brand in these key markets while developing a robust sales and service network.
As part of its strategic plan to expand across Europe, Kögel Trailer has been actively positioning itself in the Irish and British markets. Following a thorough market analysis and successful pilot orders, Horizon Trailers pursued an exclusive sales partnership with Kogel, formalised through a contractual agreement last year (2024).
Despite its recent founding, Horizon Trailers says that it brings decades of expertise in commercial vehicles to the collaboration.
Kogel is one of the leading trailer manufacturers in Europe. With its commercial vehicles and transport solutions for freight-forwarding companies and the construction industry, the company has been delivering what it describes as “made-in-Germany” engineering quality for more than 90 years.
Experienced team with ambitious goals
The team at Horizon Trailers comprises seasoned professionals from the transportation industry with proven expertise in sales, finance and business development. Working closely with Kogel, Horizon Trailers says it aims to achieve significant milestones, including sustainable growth in both the new vehicle and aftermarket segments.
Within the medium term, the partnership targets capturing a market share of at least 10 per cent in Ireland and the UK.
To achieve this, Horizon Trailers plans to establish a comprehensive dealer and service network, ensuring optimal customer support. The partnership will focus on key sectors such as international and domestic freight, pharmaceuticals, agricultural, and food logistics.
The product portfolio includes Kogel’s refrigerated, box, and curtainsider trailers. While the initial market entry will centre on Ireland, efforts in the UK will proceed simultaneously.
