The fourth generation Transit, introduced in 2014, was the first to be co-designed by Ford of Europe and Ford of America.

In 2019 the model was face-lifted with refreshed styling, updated driver assistance technology and the introduction of the new 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine offered in a range of power outputs, alongside a mild-hybrid option.
