Eddie Cunningham joining the Automotive Publications team

We are delighted to announce that Eddie Cunningham, who has probably been Ireland’s best-known and most trusted motoring journalist over the past couple of decades, is joining the Automotive Publications team.

Eddie is leaving his role as Motoring Editor of the Irish Independent / Independent.ie next month (March), where for many years he informed the country with his trusted commentary each Wednesday in the motoring news pages of the Irish Independent and with his car reviews every Saturday.

He will then take up the new position of Consulting Editor here at Automotive Publications in the middle of March 2025. In his new role, he will work with our existing editorial team, bringing a high level of experience and additional knowledge, as we continue to expand our offerings in and beyond the auto and transport industries.

He will also continue to report on the latest new cars arriving here as part of this new role, alongside Eoin Cuttle, Editor, and John Loughran, Managing Editor.
