ATS Euromaster planning to close a third of UK locations
ATS Euromaster, the Michelin-owned company, is reportedly proposing to shut 86 centres, which would be over a third of its UK network. Non-profitable service centres look to be at the highest risk of closure.
The possible loss of more than 400 jobs throughout the UK is speculated on because of increasing costs, reduced turnover, losses and over capacity.
The company says that it is part of a wider review of its operating model. Its UK network comprises over 235 centres and only recently announced that it is scaling-up the mobile service side of its business. It is also shaping a franchise model which it says is already successfully operating in several other countries.
ATS Euromaster is part of the Euromaster Group which operates in 16 European countries. It claims to be Europe’s leading service provider for car, van and truck fleets, selling over 10,000,000 tyres each year, from about 2,460 centres. That’s over 37,000 tyres being fitted each day. As a whole, there are also over 2,600 mobile service vans across their European network.
The company claims that the closures will not impact the high quality of services that it offers to its customers.
