Yutong entering UK electric truck market with 7.5-tonne launch
Yutong is the biggest bus and coach builder in the world. It is also the second largest zero emission truck builder in China.
Yutong will now introduce a new battery-powered 7.5-tonne truck range into the UK this spring, 2025. This follows its success in the UK with electric buses and coaches.

Pelican Engineering, the company responsible for Yutong city bus and coach success in the UK with 800 electric buses on the roads there since 2014, will also import and distribute this new electric truck range.
The T75e chassis-cab will be Yutong’s first truck to go on sales in the UK. Deliveries are expected to commence in the spring with a formal public debut scheduled for the Road Transport Expo (RTX) in June.
Expect to see two battery options initially – 100kW and 132kW. The latter should offer a promised range of circa 180 miles or 290km on a full charge.
The chassis-cab weight of the 100kW (unladen) is under 3,000kg. The new chassis-cab has been developed to suit a range of body build types including box, tipper, curtainside and insulated bodies.
A spokesperson for Central Bus and Coach, the Irish distributor for the Yutong bus and coach range, told CVWorkshop.ie that it is not the company’s intention at this moment to bring this new electric truck range to Ireland.
