The Cooltemp Ultra VRCS-2, the newest addition to the extensive Cooltemp range, is a “Very-Long-Life” coolant/antifreeze based on monoethylene glycol and free of Nitrites, Amines, and Silicates.
This new product stands out with its orangish-red colour, a shift from Volvo’s usual yellow, but most importantly, it is fully backwards compatible with older Volvo and Renault engines ensuring optimal performance and smooth transition for existing systems.
For years, the VCS coolant specification has been a trusted staple, and products carrying this spec have been regarded very highly by industry professionals. Now, that bar has been raised again by the next-generation VCS-2 grade, replacing the old variant.
Cooltemp Ultra VRCS-2 ready-to-use and Cooltemp Ultra VRCS-2 concentrate, carrying this spec, have undergone rigorous testing to meet the highest industry standards and are specifically tailored for the latest engine generations. One of the standout features of the Cooltemp Ultra VRCS-2 coolant is its 2-EHA (2-ethyl hexanoic acid)-free inhibitor package. This innovative formula aligns with new regulatory demands, aiming to reduce toxic components in coolants and promote a healthier environment.
Plus, the coolant and inhibitor system boasts an impressive service life of up to 500,000km or four years, without needing any supplemental coolant additives. While it’s fully compatible with older Volvo and Renault engines, it’s advisable to drain and flush the system when transitioning to the new coolant for optimal performance.
Featuring advanced LoBrid Technology—which combines 90 per cent Organic Acid Technology with 10 per cent Inorganic Acid Technology—the Cooltemp Ultra VRCS-2 enhances oxidation stability, reduces metallic corrosion, and improves compatibility with rubber and plastic components. This ensures minimal seal breakages and maximises the efficiency and longevity of cooling systems.
