Harris Group to restructure Isuzu dealer network
The Harris Group, Ireland’s largest privately-owned automotive distributor, has announced plans to restructure the Irish Isuzu dealership network.
This year marks 40 years of the Isuzu sales and aftersales franchise in Ireland for the Harris Group, who is forecasting a 60 per cent increase in sales of the Japanese brand over the coming 18 months.
According to the Harris Group, this will be driven by the imminent launch of new Isuzu vehicles and a reinvigorated network of dealerships across the island of Ireland, which currently sits at 25.
SIMI stats show that both Isuzu light- and heavy-duty vehicle sales are up for the year-to-date, at over 77 and 13 per cent respectively.
The latest Euro 6e D-Max model (pictured) comes with enhanced features and improved emissions standards, alongside a move to automatic transmission only.
In addition to the Euro 6e D-Max the Isuzu line-up includes N-series and F-series trucks, offering heavy and light trucks ranging from 3.5 tonnes to 11 tonnes.
And in 2025 Isuzu will launch its first battery electric vehicle (BEV), which it claims will be a significant step for the pick-up market.
To help drive growth for Isuzu, the Harris Group has appointed Karl Haughton as head of sales and dealer network for the brand. He will be responsible for overseeing sales operations and managing the fleet division for Isuzu in Ireland.
The Harris Group says Haughton has a wealth of experience gained from his work in the Maxus and Bus & Coach divisions, which equips him to drive growth and contribute to the reinvigoration of Isuzu’s dealership network across the country.
“This is a milestone year for Isuzu in Ireland and an opportunity to mark 40 years and bolster our distribution network,” said Haughton. “It’s important for us to support the brand by working with like-minded dealerships that share our commitment to maintaining the highest of standards underpinned by unrivalled customer service.”
“As a premium brand, we prioritise ensuring that every dealership embodies Isuzu’s core values of durability and reliability.
“With the introduction of the new look D-Max this month, followed by the launch of battery electric vehicles next year, we welcome fresh perspectives. The time is right to invigorate our dealership network and ensure its continued success,” he added.
