Harris Group donates Maxus mobile unit to Vision Ireland

Harris Group has donated a Maxus eDeliver 9 mobile unit to Vision Ireland, the new name for NCBI, Ireland’s oldest national sight loss agency, which will provide vital public education and awareness on good eye health.

A staple of Harris Group’s range of electric vehicles, the eDeliver 9 has been equipped with screens and tools for detecting eye conditions and will provide simulation services through virtual reality.

Harris Group CEO Denise Harris and former Irish Paralympian Peter Ryan officially launched the Vision Van at the Harris Group headquarters on the Naas Road in Dublin.

According to Vision Ireland, 18 people begin to lose their eyesight every day in Ireland, yet 70 per cent of blindness is preventable through early detection and treatment.

“The Vision Van will benefit many communities across Ireland and support people to better manage their vision and ensure a fullest possible life,” Mrs Harris said.
