Bridgestone reveals new Duravis Van tyre
Bridgestone has revealed a new winter tyre for light commercial vehicles – the Duravis Van Winter with Enliten technology.
According to independent TÜV SÜD tests, the Bridgestone Duravis Van Winter delivers best-in-class braking and traction performances in both snow and icy conditions to keep drivers safe and in control all winter long. The EV-ready tyre also achieves an EU Label A-grade in wet grip.
The Bridgestone Duravis Van Winter boasts the longest mileage compared to other premium winter alternatives – the TÜV SÜD tests claim – to help reduce vehicle downtime, costs, and improve resource efficiency.
This is alongside a 13 per cent rolling resistance reduction from its predecessor, increasing fuel/energy efficiency to further reduce the total cost of ownership and environmental impact.
Bridgestone says these significant performance improvements are made possible by Enliten, its combination of multiple cutting-edge technologies providing the tyre’s significant longevity improvements without compromising performance on the snow, ice, wet or dry.
The new tyre also benefits from an optimised pattern design and a new compound formula for improved rolling resistance and grip on snow. These innovations are combined with a high contact area for superior performance on ice.
The use of Enliten technology ensures the Bridgestone Duravis Van Winter is fully EV-ready – meeting both general performance demands of any vehicle and the specific requirements of electric vehicles.
Developed in Europe, the Bridgestone Duravis Van Winter Enliten will be launched in 19 sizes, from 15 to 17 inch, from this July.
The tyre will join the Bridgestone Duravis Van for summer and the Duravis All Season, completing Bridgestone’s premium van lineup.
Stefano Sanchini, VP consumer replacement at Bridgestone EMEA said: “Reliable, robust and EV-ready, the Bridgestone Duravis Van Winter Enliten is engineered to support the needs of modern van users and fleets.
“We wanted to create a winter van tyre that could both enhance day-to-day operations and provide long-term cost and efficiency gains. We’ve achieved that through a variety of best-in-class performances delivering outstanding longevity, efficiency and safety in all winter conditions.”
