LCV sales up over 15pc in September
The Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) has today released its official 232 new vehicle registrations statistics for September.
It shows that light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales are up 15.4 per cent (2,021) compared to September last year (1,751).
For the year-to-date, a total of 27,220 new LCVs have been sold in Ireland, a 30.6 per cent rise on the same period in 2022.
Ford has sold the most LCVs so far this year, with 6,269 units sold. This is followed by Renault (4,105), Volkswagen (3,542), Toyota (2,987), and Opel (2,006).
The Renault Master is the most sold van to date in 2023, while the Ford Transit Connect was September’s best seller.
Meanwhile, SIMI figures released today show that heavy goods vehicle (HGV) registrations decreased by just over 17 per cent in September (155) compared to the same month in 2022.
However, HGV sales for the year-to-date are up 27 per cent, with 2,375 units sold.
Scania leads the way in sales for 2023, with 654 units sold.
