Dixon completes first electric HGV journey to France

Dixon International recently completed what it claims to be the first ever electric HGV transport between Ireland and France, using a Volvo FH electric truck.

The journey began at e-commerce giant Amazon’s Dublin warehouse, before travelling via Cherbourg in France to Amazon’s distribution centre in Paris.

Michael Dixon, managing director at Dixon International said: “The performance of the Volvo FH electric truck was fantastic using only 1.01 kWh per km with a range of over 400 kilometres on the journey. The truck is now loading in Envirotainer in Paris to travel back to Ireland via the UK.”
