First Rivian electric vans arrive in Europe for Amazon
The first Rivian electric delivery vans arrive in Europe as Amazon has announced that more than 300 vans are hitting the road across Germany over the coming weeks.
The electric vans will be used to deliver packages across major cities including Munich, Berlin and Dusseldorf.
The Rivian vans for Amazon are designed from the ground-up, prioritising safety, sustainability and comfort for drivers.
Safety-first vehicle features include automatic emergency breaking, collision warnings and 360-degree visibility.
In Europe, Amazon and Rivian specially designed a shorter, thinner van than its United States counterpart in order to better fit in Europe’s cities.
Amazon is already operating 3,000 Rivian vehicles in the USA and aims to have 100,000 electric delivery vehicles from Rivian on the road globally by 2030.
