Diamond Trucks acquires RK Trucks Centre

MAN Truck & Bus Ltd.’s franchised partner for Northern Ireland, RK Trucks Centre, has changed ownership and is now part of Diamond Trucks Ltd., through parent firm Setanta Vehicle Group in Dublin.

Commenting, Harry Nash, Setanta Group managing director, said: “We are delighted to announce our purchase of the long established and well run Northern Ireland based Man parts and service dealership which has sites based at sites at Carryduff and Dungannon.

“The MAN brand of vehicles, vans, trucks and coaches, are well received in Ireland and we very much look forward to working with the teams at RK Trucks, meeting with customers and investing in and growing the business.”

Mr Nash added that Diamond Trucks plans to invest in an additional new facility to the north of Belfast, to “enhance our presence and offering across Northern Ireland”.

RK Trucks Centre originally became part of the MAN Truck & Bus franchised dealer network in 1994 under the management and leadership of the late Donal Rice, who passed away late last year.

Over the last 29 years, RK Trucks has built a reputation in providing quality customer service to truck, van and coach operators throughout Northern Ireland.

Stefan Thyssen, managing director MAN Truck & Bus UK Ltd, added: We are thrilled that Harry Nash has chosen to invest in the MAN brand and is planning to further invest in the RK Trucks Centre sites.

“We wish him and the team every success for the future in what will be a beneficial relationship for both RK Trucks and MAN Truck & Bus UK Ltd.”

“We would like to sincerely thank Iris, Nicola, Claire and the teams at both Dungannon and Carryduff for the exceptional representation of the MAN brand which they have provided over the years,” continued Thyssen.

“Moving forward under the leadership of John Donnelly, the team will continue trade under the RK Trucks Ltd name and we are looking forward to continue to trade, closely with them in the future”.
