SDC Truck & Trailer Parts invests in same-day delivery services

SDC Truck & Trailer Parts has introduced a new IT system to strengthen its same-day delivery services to customers in the transport and logistics industries.

The aftermarket parts supplier says the live inventory management and order processing technology will further optimise supply chains across its Ireland and UK network, ensuring key parts are always available, while impress stock customers will also benefit from a new streamlined ordering system.

Company director Gavin Diamond said the investment was part of a wider growth strategy that will allow it to scale up operations in Ireland and the UK.

“SDC Truck & Trailer Parts has achieved remarkable growth and our latest IT investment will allow us to further expand our regional teams to meet market demand with more operational flexibility,” he said.

“We have great pride in what we have built over 21 years and our loyal customer base who have worked alongside us. With this in mind, we will always look at ways to enhance our operations and ultimately help our customers.”

SDC Truck & Trailer Parts offers the largest parts network in Ireland, fulfilling an average of 200 deliveries daily, with 95 per cent of these orders on a same-day delivery service.

The company recently opened two new locations in Glasgow and Newbridge, Co. Kildare, making in-store purchasing more convenient and enhancing service to customers in the regions.

A 30,000sq ft warehouse in Toomebridge acts as its central distribution hub, storing over 700 pallets and supporting regional depots in Belfast, Omagh, Lurgan, Newry, Newbridge, Dublin, New Ross, and Cork.

In addition to its 13 branch locations, SDC Truck & Trailer Parts has an extensive fleet of over 50 delivery vehicles providing a same-day or next-day delivery service that many customers rely upon in the case of unplanned downtime.
