Howard Tenens Logistics, a leading independent logistics provider in the UK, has invested in new Krone trailers as it expands its container operations.
The company has invested in new Krone Box Liner FS10 skeletal trailers in response to growth in its container logistics business.
Alan Pellow, national fleet and compliance manager for Howard Tenens Logistics, said: “We have seen significant growth in the number of enquiries for port logistics contracts. The pandemic and Brexit have created a lot of opportunities, typically for three to five-year contracts.
“We rented some trailers initially to meet this demand but ultimately decided to buy some more as that is more economical in the long term. The Krone trailers came highly recommended by some friends of mine who work in logistics. We asked Krone to quote, and they were very competitive on price.”
The FS10 uses a flat chassis configuration with a sliding bogie for carrying 20ft, 30ft, 40ft and 45ft containers. Krone container chassis are designed to be durable and versatile, with features including fold-out and retractable container locks, as well as extendable under-run protection.
They come with a 10-year guarantee against corrosion perforation.
