Mitroline picks Actros and Sprinter for home and trans-continental trade
Industrial shipment, delivery and warehousing services provider, Mitroline has become the latest pan-European freight handler to enhance its fleet with Mercedes-Benz truck and van additions.
New to the Cashel-based operator’s fleet are two Actros LS2453 trucks and six Sprinter 315/43 vans, all decked-out in livery highlighting Mitroline’s distinctive turquoise blue logo colour scheme set against a snow white background
Commenting, Mitroline owner Alexandru Mitrofan said: “The Actros is an attractive vehicle for us, equipped with the latest technology, added driver comfort for long trips and its fuel efficiency.”
Supplied by Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles main dealer, Surehaul, the range of features fitted on both Actros units include Actros StyleLine exterior and interior design and fitments, Durabright alloys and Climate Control with auxiliary overnight air conditioning.
The safety and driver assistance features include Proximity Control, Active Brake Assist 5, driver’s airbag, Attention Assist and Lane Keep Assist.
“With the Sprinter we found they make a huge difference to our fleet, thanks to their ease of handling, safety, and numerous assistance and driver information features. From their on-the-road prominence and feedback we gathered from drivers, the Sprinter proved to be our best choice when it comes to both long trips and multi-drop working,” Mitrofan added.
Features fitted to their Sprinter fleet include MBUX multimedia system with 7-inch touch screen, Multifunction Steering Wheel, ECO Start/Stop function, Cruise Control, Reversing Camera, ’Comfort’ Driver’s Seat with Lumbar Support and Armrest, Driver’s Airbag and 6-speed Manual Transmission.
A Mercedes-Benz owner since 2013 – the year when Mitroline commenced operations in the transportation industry – the company purchased its first new Mercedes-Benz vehicle three years later in 2016. Today, the company operates a mixed truck and van fleet of 65 vehicles servicing routes across Europe and the UK, alongside a thriving domestic trade.
Fergus Conheady, sales manager for Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles in Ireland said: “It is especially pleasing for Mercedes-Benz to have Mitroline amongst our esteemed owners, as we are aware of the high standards and dedication to professionalism that permeates the Mitroline organisation, and of the service demands and challenges that their vehicles are expected to meet.”
