Eurocell to use solar technology on new MANs
Derbyshire-based Eurocell has upgraded part of its fleet with six MAN trucks featuring solar technology.
The specialist in PVC-U recycling, collection and extrusion has taken delivery of the 7.5-tonne vehicles with solar mats fixed on the roof space and connected to the vehicle battery.
The solar power generated will be used to power various onboard activities.
The trucks will be based at Eurocell’s depot in Selby for use nationwide. The solar fleet is expected to save more than nine tonnes of CO2 and 3,500 litres of diesel a year.
Other features include a sleeper cab, tail-lift and an onboard weighing system to improve efficiencies for the Eurocell Recycle arm of the business.
