Bosch adds new pressure based mass air flow meter
In order to enable reliable and efficient operation of a commercial vehicle, all components that are part of engine management must work together in the best possible way.
This includes direct engine components such as the pump, injectors and fuel rail – but also indirectly many spare parts components such as sensors.
Bosch says its new PFM has been specifically designed for the much more demanding applications in commercial vehicles.
Two pressure sensors and one temperature sensor are installed in the PFM for pressure based air flow measurement.
The exact air mass is calculated by intake air flowing over a heated sensor membrane. The temperature is recorded by resistors on two defined measurement fields.
The pressure based air flow meter’s measurement technique is based on the pitot-static tube concept.
