GS Yuasa Traction gains further momentum

GS Yuasa’s latest 2 Volt Traction batteries are gaining further momentum in the ever-expanding materials handling market, after leading UK industrial battery distributor, Battery Service Hub, received its first container of the batteries.

Launched in October 2021, GS Yuasa’s new Traction ranges have been designed for use in materials handling applications ranging from forklift trucks to floor cleaning machines.

24, 48 and 80 Volt solutions are available, all of which utilise GS Yuasa’s specialist 2 Volt traction cells to offer high performance and minimal maintenance.

Andy Riddle, director at Battery Service Hub said: “We’ve had a very strong relationship with GS Yuasa and have been selling their batteries for a number of years now, so when the opportunity arose to introduce their new 2V Traction batteries, we just needed to get our hands on them.

“The GS Yuasa name is widely regarded as the best in the industry, renowned for quality and reliability. With the new GS Yuasa Traction range, we know it’s something we can confidently put our name to and supply to our customers.”

The new range is a fully plug and play solution, meaning it can be easily integrated into a wide range of applications. All batteries are supplied in a high durability, dip coated tray, manufactured to DIN/EN 60254-2 standards, with both DIN and BIS sizes available. Individual cells and a broad range of accessories are also available.

GS Yuasa traction batteries are supported by a range of accessories including an optional Air-Mix system which enhances electrolyte mixing, prolonging service life and reducing the risk of stratification and premature battery failure.

The system brings a number of additional benefits including a 20 per cent reduction in energy consumption during charging and reducing overall charge times by 30 per cent. A fully integrated filling solution that makes maintenance quick and easy is also available while an optional LED indicator means electrolyte levels can be checked with just a glance.
