Martin West new group commercial director at ADL

Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL) has appointed Martin West as its new group commercial director, strengthening its sales, commercial, business development, and marketing functions.

Reporting directly to president & managing director Paul Davies, West joins ADL from Scania and brings with him 27 years of bus and coach sector experience gained from roles of increasing responsibility including his most recent position as sales director (Power Solutions, Bus and Coach).

Paul Davies commented: “Our world is changing rapidly and we need to ensure that the structure and responsibilities of the team are aligned to the evolving market demands and business needs.

“Martin’s deep knowledge of all aspects of the bus and coach sector, gained with another world class company, will give ADL the additional bench strength needed to drive our business growth agenda domestically and across all of our international markets.”

West said of his new role: “Having enjoyed working in partnership with ADL for many years, I am very happy to now be a part of the global NFI team as we enhance and grow our offerings to the loyal customer base, as well as continuing to establish ADL as a trusted supplier and partner for many more operators, suppliers and authorities.

ADL said West’s appointment will allow group operations director John Clougherty, who has been covering additional responsibilities for the sales and commercial functions during the pandemic, to dedicate his efforts to the critically important areas of operations, quality and business improvement.
