Ford creating seperate EV, ICE divisions
Ford is splitting its vehicle making business into separate electric vehicle and internal combustion engine divisions, the automaker has announced.
Its new EV division will be known as ‘Ford Model e’ and will accelerate the delivery of EVs at scale, along with developing software and connected vehicle technologies and services for all of Ford’s operations.
Meanwhile the ‘Ford Blue’ division will focus on the company’s portfolio of ICE vehicles.
Ford said both Model e and Blue will operate as seperate businesses, but share relevant technology and best practices to leverage scale and drive operating improvements.
Along with Ford Pro, all three businesses are expected to have discrete P&Ls by 2023.
