New European sales director at Prinx Chengshan
Prinx Chengshan Tire Europe GmbH has appointed Adrian Costache as sales director for the Austone, Fortune and Chengshan Tires brands, effectively 1st February, 2022.
In his new role he is responsible for the complete price management as well as the European sales for both passenger car and truck tyres.
The 39-year-old joined Prinx Chengshan as area sales manager in 2016. He was responsible for his home country Romania as well as other European countries including France, Italy, Spain, Portugal and recently Bulgaria.
Prinx Chengshan is the manufacturers of the Austone range of tyres, which are distributed in Ireland by Euro Tyre Sales.

Costache will report directly to Prinx Chengshan’s Europe MD, Thomas Wohlgemuth, who said: “We are delighted that Adrian has taken on this role. We have ambitious growth plans to take the Austone, Fortune and Chengshan Tires brands forward across Europe and Adrian is the ideal person to implement these in sales.
“With a growth model that works and the right people in place, our business is undoubtedly moving in the right, positive direction.”
The tyre maker says Costache will be tasked with the restructuring of the sales area for Europe. In terms of sales, the new strategic orientation includes the division of the two segments passenger car and truck tyres as well as new regional divisions.
The area sales managers will continue to take care of the regional key accounts within Europe. They provide targeted support and optimised service for Austone, Fortune and Chengshan customers.
In order to increase sales and turnover, tyre specialists with extensive experience were brought on board in 2021 by Prinx Chengshan.
Additional team members, mainly area sales managers, are to be added in order to create a “specialised, diversified, professional and localised pan-European sales presence”, it says.
Prinx Chengshan Tire Europe GmbH says it last year saw growth of almost five per cent in the PCR segment, while sales of summer and all-season tyres in the UHP segment were increased by 25 per cent. It adds that the sales debut of its commercial vehicle tyres was “extremely successful”.
Costache commented: “With the quality of our products, our optimised service and our flexibility, we ensure that we stand as a reliable and dependable partner at the side of our wholesalers and continue to develop and shape our joint business positively.
“In 2022, we will additionally improve the specifications of the existing product range and add new products to constantly meet the expectations of European drivers.”
