Redmount mobile column lift range continues to grow

Mobile column lifts specialists Redmount International Ltd now offers 5.5T and 8.5T column lifts, as part of its ever-increasing range.

Coming in at a lower price point, the 5.5T (22T total) is proving very popular with bus operators, who might not need the full capacity of the 7.5T (30T) lift.

Also proving very popular is the 8.5T, and increasingly Redmount says it is seeing column sets being used for non motoring applications due to the versatility of the product.

Indeed, one particular customer is using 12 columns together , combining to 90T, in the production of modulated air handling units, used in data centres.

Redmount column lifts can be paired very easily, simply by entering a wi-fi code, so having three sets of four columns or combining all 12 together takes only seconds to complete.

Due to increasing public liability costs and insurance restrictions, a lot of businesses are moving away from inspection pits and moving towards column lifts.

The days of having an open hole in the middle of a workshop are drawing to an end. Plus, with a column, the flexibility to decide which height you wish to choose to work at is available, unlike with a pit.

Toolboxes and transmission jacks can be easily wheeled into position, underneath the vehicle, saving time. Of course, like all lifting equipment, safety certification is a must.

The liability falls on the employer to ensure equipment being used by employees is fit for purpose. Increasingly, insurance companies are insisting on all equipment being certified on renewal of existing policies.
