Kirkby Tyres Ireland has been operating from premises in Dublin for over 25 years. The company offers a comprehensive range of products and services to tyre distributors, OE manufacturers and export customers.

It holds large stocks of truck, tractor, flotation, industrial and plant and earthmover tyres, together with wheels to suit any application, making it one of the largest and most comprehensive distributors of off-highway tyre and wheel solutions in Ireland.

As well as servicing the replacement market, the company’s sales staff and engineers within Kirkby’s OE division are highly regarded for their experience and knowledge, helping to supply tyre and wheel assemblies to key blue-chip manufacturing companies (OE1) and smaller trailer manufacturers (OE2).

New premises
Kirkby Tyre recently moved to a new premises in Dublin, which represents a significant investment on behalf of the company.

Kirkby Tyres Ireland operations serves all geographical areas in Ireland. Due to increased sales activities and opportunities the Kirkby Tyres management took the decision to purchase larger premises for its Irish operations.

The company has invested over €3.5m with the purchase and upgrade of a high profile detached industrial facility of approximately 2,923 square metres, including approximately 347 square metres of two-storey offices situated on a site of approximately 0.76 ha (1.88 ac).

Benefiting from a strategic location, with access to the major arterial routes, the Kirkby team is proud to mark this as another milestone in the company’s recent history.

With this investment the company is able to bring to market an even wider range of product and better stock availability from its portfolio of brands.

Alliance
Kirkby Tyres is the exclusive importer of Alliance product into Ireland (now part of Yokohama Off-Highway Tire) and stocks a comprehensive range of tractor, trailer, implement and tanker tyres.

In January last year, the company successfully launched the Agristar II and now offers the now complete range of 85 and 70 series with good market feedback.

kirkby Tyres is also focusing on Alliance’s upgraded VF range – the Agriflex 372+ which offers improved and impressive results in fuel efficiency, traction, slippage, and footprint against premium competition.

There are now 28 SKUs from 28 inch to 42 inch, covering popular 85, 70 and 65 series fitments, high speed D-rated (65 km/h).

Notwithstanding agri, Kirkby Tyres also carries common (to the building and construction industries) plant and industrial sizes such as 400/80-24 and 440/80-24, available from Alliance in the popular Tough Trac pattern.

The newly released Alliance 585 pattern, is now fitted as OE for the Manitou range of MLT NewAg and NewAg XL telehandlers in 400/70R24.

It is also available in the popular agro-industrial size 460/70R24 used on telehandlers and backhoe and compact loaders, this modern 585 pattern has been developed to allow versatility in operating conditions, providing comfort and good handling on both road and off-road conditions.

New product
Alliance has always been global leader in flotation radial tyres. In this case Kirkby Tyres has collaborated to develop the new 560/60R22.5 590 169D HD Steel Belted TL – heavy duty flotation radial tyre for agricultural trailers, agricultural dump trailers and slurry tankers, with an updated pattern, industry leading performance (highest LSI available) and a 10 year warranty (longest in the market).

MRL
Kirky Tyres is the exclusive importer of MRL product into Ireland. MRL represents Kirkby Tyres’ value range of agricultural tyres including bias and radial tractor fitments and agricultural implements.

New product
Kirkby has enjoyed continued success and market penetration with the launch last year of the 560/60R22.5 165D/162E Steel Belted tyre in the popular FLR 333 and FLR 335 sizes developed for agricultural trailers.

The 333 is a road-going pattern whilst the open-centre style 335 is perfect for wet conditions in the field. Both are steel belted for extra puncture resistance and added strength to the carcass.

For those customers looking for a value proposition without sacrificing quality Kirkby Tyres has available the hugely popular 800/65R32 MRL Mega Sol RRT650 181A8/178B TL for single axle slurry tankers. A modern tread design provides great self-cleaning abilities whilst in the field.

Pirelli
Kirkby Tyres is the exclusive Ireland importer of Pirelli branded agricultural tyres since the return of the Pirelli agricultural brand in 2017.

Pirelli agricultural tyres represents Kirkby Tyres’ premium offering – part of the stable of products from the Promoteon Group.

The Pirelli range offers good traction in the market and growing number of SKUs. The PHP (pattern) R1-W range of premium radial tractor tyres now available in 13 sizes in popular 85 series, from 24” inch tractor front to 42” inch rear fitments. Also 13 fitments are available in 70 series, from 28” inch to 42”. Super high volume 65 series also available for high powered tractors.

New product
Promoteon is working on the development of its own IF/VF range. Currently available through Kirkby Tyres are the new IF 650/65R34 PHE:65 161D and IF 710/75R42 PHE:75 176D super high volume sizes for high powered tractors, to be followed with more additions to the range.

Sailun
In the truck segment Kirkby Tyres continues to bring to the Irish market leading products with its exclusive Sailun commercial and light truck tyres. The Sailun Group’s flagship Sailun-branded truck tyres benefit first from investment in new patterns, compounds, technologies and improved labelling results.

New product
In 2020 Kirkby Tyres introduced the new Sailun SDR1, a tyre designed specifically for drive axles on trucks.

What makes this tyre unique is that (at the time of writing), it is believed it is the only Chinese manufacturer to achieve the prestigious German TUV accreditation for this application.

Now available in 17 sizes, all with 3PMSF and S2WR2 accreditation, Kirkby Tyres has yet again brought to market a quality value proposition for its customers.

In other sectors such as the building and construction transport economy, Kirkby Tyres has brought to market the brand new Sailun SD01 designed specifically for mining, logging and construction application, and Kirkby Tyres is having great success with this tyre in popular sizes 295/80R22.5 and 315/80R22.5.

These are complemented with the popular Sailun S815 and Sailun S913A drive tyres for mixed service applications.

Further new additions to the range include the new STM1 pattern now available from Kirkby in key trailer sizes 445/65R22.5 and 385/65R22.5, developed for short to mid-range commercial vehicles working in mixed service applications.
