GS Yuasa’s new motive battery range hits materials handling market
The first container of GS Yuasa’s brand-new Traction batteries has landed. Delivered late last month to the Bristol-based Battery Technologies UK Ltd, the specialist two volt traction batteries are new to GS Yuasa’s European offering and developed specifically for the traction market.
GS Yuasa’s new range of batteries has been designed for use in applications ranging from forklift trucks to materials handling equipment and floor cleaning machines. Available are 24, 48 and 80 volt solutions utilising GS Yuasa’s specialist two volt traction cells to offer high performance and minimal maintenance.
The new range is a fully plug and play solution, meaning it can be easily integrated into a wide range of applications. All batteries are supplied in a high durability, dip coated tray, manufactured to DIN/EN 60254-2 standards, with both DIN and BIS sizes available. Individual cells and a broad range of accessories are also available.
Jonathan Wrigley, OEM & OES sales manager for GS Yuasa Battery Sales UK Ltd said: “We’re delighted to bring our reputation for high-quality products to such an exciting market. The GS Yuasa Traction batteries are a welcome addition to our range, offering long service life and minimal maintenance.
“Businesses overwhelmingly demand reliability so we’re proud to be able to bring our unparalleled reputation for quality and reliability to the materials handling market.”
An optional Air-Mix system enhances electrolyte mixing, prolonging service life and reducing the risk of stratification and premature battery failure.
The system brings a number of additional benefits including a 20 per cent reduction in energy consumption during charging and reducing overall charge times by 30 per cent, according to GS Yuasa.
A fully integrated filling solution makes maintenance quick and easy while an optional LED indicator means electrolyte levels can be checked with just a glance.
