Martin Corley Tyres – 20 years of tyre wholesale throughout Ireland
Family-run business Martin Corley Tyres was founded 20 years ago and has grown steadily since to be the chosen tyre partner of over 450 garages throughout Ireland.
The business was started in 2001 by Martin and Verone Corley when they saw a gap in the market for a reliable tyre supplier to offer a wide range of tyres to garages and tyre centres.
Martin Corley Tyres stocks car, van, 4×4, truck, agri, industrial and implement tyres, tubes and repair materials.
Based in Allenwood, Co Kildare, Martin Corley Tyres recently moved to a large warehouse in Kilcock, but still keeps some of its stock in Allenwood. There are eight full time staff employed in the Kilcock premises.
Speaking to the Auto Trade Journal, Seán Corley of Martin Corley Tyres said: “We are a tyre wholesale business and do not have any fitting centres of our own, allowing us to devote all our time and attention to looking after our garage and tyre centre customers.
“We deliver using our own fleet of six vans and we also use Fastway couriers. We offer same day delivery to Kildare and Dublin areas and next day delivery to the rest of Ireland with Fastway couriers.
“We travel to Wicklow, Wexford, Waterford, Tipperary, Kilkenny, Laois, and Carlow twice a week and to Meath, Westmeath, Roscommon, Mayo and Galway once a week with our own vans.”
Martin Corley Tyres is the exclusive importer and distributer of Goldline tyres in Ireland. The Goldline range caters for car, van and 4×4 tyres, along with a huge range of all-season and winter tyres.
“Our Goldline tyre range has quickly becoming a favourite of Irish motorists looking for extra peace of mind when driving on Irish roads with our changeable weather conditions,” Seán said.
Martin Corley Tyres also stocks large quantities of well-known tyre brands including but not limited to Maxxis, Nexen, Hankook, Pirelli, Event, Goodyear, Dunlop, Michelin and Uniroyal.
In 2017 the business set up a retail website called ‘The Tyre Box’ to compete with overseas European retailers selling tyres directly to the public.
This site allows the end user to select the tyres they need, but they must get them delivered to one of Martin Corley Tyres’ fitting partners, keeping garages and tyre centres in the loop.
Seán said: “The Tyre Box has proven to be a nice addition to our business but our wholesale business is still our bread and butter and is where 99 per cent of our time is spent.
“We stock over 25,000 tyres at our main warehouse and a couple thousand more in our second warehouse. There are ready for next day delivery, and we have access to millions more within a week through our European tyre suppliers.
“We have no minimum order amount and don’t charge any extra for the courier, making us an ideal partner for smaller garages and tyre centres that don’t want to stock large volumes of tyres but want their tyres quickly.”
Martin Corley Tyres uses the state-of-the-art ‘Team Systems’ software from Compilator to keep all of its stock levels and tyre details up to date. Seán explained how the business has invested a lot of time into ensuring that all stock details are correct, giving customers peace of mind when placing an order.
It also operates a wholesale website, www.martincorleytyres.ie, that features tools that lets you add your markup to the price shown on screen – allowing you to quote customers instantly, even if they are standing over your shoulder.
The website shows everything that Martin Corley Tyres has in stock and also allows you to search for tyres that its European partners stock (delivery within 10 days).
