Enterprise has expanded its UK ‘Flex-E-Rent’ fleet with the addition of 100 new plug-in electric vans.
Available for daily as well as flexible longer-term rental, the electric vans will be deployed across 14 depots in the South of England and the Midlands.
The new Mercedes-Benz 55/44 kWh eSprinter vans, 35 kWh Mercedes-Benz eVito Panel vans, and Renault Kangoo E-Tech car-derived vans join the fleet at a time when many UK towns and cities are planning to introduce clean air and low emission zones, following the upcoming expansion of London’s Ultra-Low Emission Zone in October 2021.
Enterprise says its investment will help support businesses trying out electric vehicles ahead of the end of petrol and diesel van sales in 2030.
The van fleet expansion follows the recent acquisition of 30 new Renault Zoe electric cars for use on Enterprise’s rental fleet in Scotland and the pilot programme of 17 Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell vehicles to be used by Enterprise Car Club members and employees across the country.
