TIP Trailer Services places 1,000 SDC trailer order

TIP Trailer Services has placed a substantial order with trailer manufacturer SDC for the delivery of over 1,000 new semi-trailers to its Ireland and UK based customers.

The order marks the continuation of over 20 years of collaboration between the two companies.

The trailers will be engineered at SDC’s Toomebridge, Antrim and Mansfield facilities over the next six months and feature a mix of both customer-specified and TIP-specified assets for TIP’s hire fleet.

The order will help to meet the high demand for hiring trailers that has been seen over the last 12 months.

Fleet renewal is a key part of the investment and, in line with TIP’s ‘2025 roadmap to complete digitalisation’ for its entire fleet, the new additions will be equipped with TIP Insight telematics systems.

This means the assets will ready to go for ‘trace-and-trace’ and Electronic Braking Performance Monitoring Systems (EBPMS) should customers need the functionality.
