Dennison Fast Parts moved into a brand new, purpose built facility in Naas, County Kildare in January last year. The new 16,000 foot facility, which incorporates a modern parts department, R&D facility and workshop has raised the bar for trailer parts wholesaling / retailing in Ireland.
Dennison Fast Parts, the Parts Division of Dennison Trailers, has been selling parts for it’s range of trailers in Naas since the early 1980’s, when Parts Manager, John Browne first set up a small parts store adjacent to the trailer manufacturing facility.
What started out as small parts store to supply parts for Dennison manufactured trailers, has grown into one of the leading trailer parts distributors on the island of Ireland. Over the years, as demand grew, Dennison Fast Parts added parts for other trailer manufacturers to the point where it now has an all-encompassing parts programme for practically every trailer on the road in Ireland today.
Having outgrown its existing parts facility, the company took the decision to purchase a site in a nearby industrial estate and develop a Parts Department, R&D facility and Workshop that is on a par with similar Dennison facilities in the UK. The new facility also hosts new trailer “hand-overs”, which certainly adds a “wow” factor to the compound.
Parts Manager, John Browne enthused: “when the site became available, we took the decision to purchase it and develop a new state-of-the art facility, which is comparable to other Dennison sites in the UK.
“The facility is purpose-built, which means we are able to stock a wider range of parts to meet our customers’ needs. We have everything under the one roof, which makes things easier for our customers.”
Dennison Fast Parts’ stockholding includes OE Lighting from Hella, OE Braking from Knorr-Bremse, Wabco, and Haldex as well as OE Axles and Suspensions from SAAF, Jost, Meritor, BPW and Gigant. In the recent past Dennison Fast Parts has added the Valx range of axles to its OE portfolio in line with the growing demand for Valx spare parts in Ireland. At the time of writing the company had a number of distribution agreements in the pipeline, with announcements expected in the second half of the year.
The company sets its stall out to offer OE parts right across its product portfolio, but for the cost conscious operator, Dennison Fast Parts also offers a range of second-line parts that represents a good price / quality proposition
John and his team of seven are acutely aware that not all customers are in the market for OE parts. “We always stock the OE part, but we will always have a price conscious, quality alternative,” he confirmed. The Dennison Fast Part business philosophy is to sell a vast selection of quality parts, and to back that up with high levels of customer service.
It’s a winning philosophy that has served the company well for many years. John and his team have a wealth of experience in parts wholesaling and retailing, and they are more than willing to go the extra mile in meeting customer needs. With downtime critical, customers can be assured of getting the right part, delivered first time, thanks to Dennison’s vast stock-holding and the team’s in depth product knowledge, which has been built up over many years.
With the arrival of COVID 19 in mid-March last year and the first Lockdown, the shutters came down at Dennison Fast Parts, but the team continued to work behind closed doors to fill essential orders.
When the Lockdown ended, the company opened its doors once again and has continued to meet the demands of its burgeoning customer base ever since.
COVID 19 aside, Dennison Fast Parts has three sales vans on the road covering the country. This is backed up by the company’s tele-sales department in Naas, which is open for customer walk-ins. The company operates a 32-county next day delivery service, using its own fleet, coupled with a network of couriers throughout the country.
While face to face sales have been curtailed because of COVID 19, John believes that when the Pandemic finally passes, business will get back to some sort of normality. He elaborated: “While business may never go back to the way it was, I do think our business is best served by having our sales people customer facing, and out and about meeting customers.”
Dennison Fast Parts’ customer base includes blue-chip haulage operators with large fleets, all the way through the spectrum to owner-operators with a single trailer. The company also supplies trailer manufacturers and suppliers as well as Motor Factors.
While Dennison’s customer base may be diverse, they all benefit from high levels of customer service, delivered by a friendly, professional team.
