ZF has launched a comprehensive new suite of fleet solutions, specifically designed to improve the operational performance, safety and customer service levels of light commercial vehicle (LCV) operations across Europe.
Helping fleets become leaner, greener and safer, the latest expansion of ZF’s capabilities addresses the important role of LCVs within the logistics and transportation industry.
ZF says fleet operators can access a comprehensive portfolio of proven technologies to manage trucks, trailers, drivers and LCVs from a single all-in-one back office platform.
“LCVs fulfill a vitally important role within the logistics and transportation industry and our pioneering suite of LCV solutions is specifically designed to address growing demand from this key sector,” said Peter Bal, business leader, digital customer services EMEA with ZF Commercial Vehicle Control Systems.
“Further demonstrating ZF’s differentiating solutions for commercial fleets of all sizes and vehicle types, this important launch reflects our unwavering determination to help operators and fleets achieve ever greater levels of safety, operational efficiency and customer service.”
The new LCV solutions portfolio includes ZF’s Vehicle Tracking Solutions allowing fleet managers and vehicle operators to accurately track the location of each LCV and inform their customers of cargo arrival times. Additionally, dispatchers can assign the next job to the most appropriate driver based on factors such as the shortest travel times. This helps reduce mileage and fuel costs and helps ensure drivers arrive on time as well as improving customer response times.
At the heart of the front-end platform is the Transics-branded TX-Flex driver app, which ZF describes as a one-stop shop to manage all elements of each individual delivery, including electronic signatures, photographs of delivered or damaged goods, barcode scans and any other details that may be relevant to a specific delivery or collection.
This extensive range of features embedded in one single app allows fleet managers and fleet drivers alike to further improve operational efficiency and customer service.
Helping manage rising fuel costs ZF offers comprehensive, real-time visibility of fuel costs as part of the LCV solutions suite. Fleets with LCV operations can optimise their fuelling strategies as a result of clear data on fuel consumption rates.
Fleet managers can utilise a simple ranking system which includes driver performance, the distances they have covered, and the fuel consumed by their vehicle to determine the fuel efficiency per vehicle. A special “fuel drop” module can also detect and specify fuel level anomalies giving fleet managers peace of mind and greater control over how fuel is used.
ZF’s relentless drive to enhance safety through its technologies is also underlined in its suite of LCV solutions. This includes furnishing fleet operators with a safety performance overview, including real-time safety alerts to rapidly highlight driving style anomalies. Drivers are also offered greater peace of mind with the provision of a safety panic alarm hidden in the cabin. Further enhancing LCV security, ZF’s immobiliser solution prevents the vehicle from starting, unless the driver has correctly logged on to the system.
With a proven track record in vehicle and driver connectivity solutions in multiple commercial vehicle segments, ZF’s LCV solutions offer easily extended functionality through a wide range of fully compatible hardware and software systems. ZF’s expertise extends beyond vehicle and driver connectivity, as it also includes integrated applications that enable the fleet to be connected to their own existing back office systems.
The LCV solutions are also fully integrated within its multifunctional TX-Connect back office software. This empowers fleets by providing comprehensive information about their trucks, drivers, trailers and light commercial vehicles in an all-in-one encompassing platform.
