Sailun’s new truck tyre plant opens

The Sailun Group’s newest truck tyre plant in Shenyang, China has officially opened.

At the opening ceremony held last week, the Group confirmed that its new plant will increase its Truck and Bus Radial (TBR) tyre production by 3.3 million units.

Occupying an area of 130,000 square metres, the plant utilises artificial intelligence and big data platforms to improve upon automation, digitisation and smart control of the entire manufacturing process. This allows for the overall improvement of production line efficiencies as well as product quality.

The project is also linked with Sailun’s recent ‘Eco-Rubber Cloud’ online industrial platform which will monitor the entire production process and equipment operations in real-time. This includes but is not limited to the procurement of raw materials, connecting sea and land transportation providers, and distributors and retailers.

Each tyre will also be equipped with a radio-frequency identification (RFID) chip to monitor its use in real time, Sailun said.
