The Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) is preparing for the colder months ahead and the challenge of keeping the airport open and operational in the face of winter snowfall, with the arrival of a new Mercedes-Benz Arocs.
The global airports and travel retail group has boosted its commercial vehicles fleet with the recent addition of a Mercedes-Benz Arocs 2,535 truck – complete with front mounted SNK30.2 Schmidt snowplough.
Supplied by Naas Road-based Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle dealer MUTEC – and featuring a Schmidt Stratos B90 nine cubic metre salt spreader body – the new unit will be tasked with helping to maintain operations at Dublin Airport by clearing runways during the cold winter months.
Beginning operations in 1937, DAA is an Irish state-owned commercial company with businesses in 13 countries. Headquartered at Dublin Airport, its principal activities include airport management, travel, retailing and aviation consultancy.
