The new Mercedes-Benz Actros Edition 2
Daimler Trucks has unveiled its new flagship Mercedes-Benz Actros Edition 2.
It is a top-spec limited edition 4×2 or 6×2 tractor, available with either ‘GigaSpace’ or ‘BigSpace’ cabs, and has design elements from the Actros Edition 1.

External highlights include exclusive Edition 2 decals, four additional LED spotlights in the sun visor, and three LED working lamps behind the cab.
Stainless steel entrance steps, an illuminated three-pointed star and a dark chrome grille all help to set it apart from standard models.
Internal enhancements include a nappa leather-covered dashboard and several carbon fibre-effect components. The truck can be specified in one of six packages – ‘Safety’, ‘Comfort’, ‘Driver’, ‘Sight’, ‘Media’ and ‘Extra Line’.
The Actros Edition 2 is available to order from January, with a limited run of just 400 left- and right-hand-drive trucks.
The new Mercedes-Benz Actros F
Daimler Trucks has also unveiled the Mercedes-Benz Actros F, which is the firms’s entry into the world of tractor units of 18 tonnes and up.
It will be available in 17 assembly model designations and as a left-hand drive only. The Actros F will launch next January in 24 EU countries and selected non-EU markets.

The Actros F has a newly designed cab with ‘StreamSpace’ or ‘BigSpace’ variants, which offer 2.5-metre width and 120-mm engine tunnel height. Entry and exit is only three steps.
The new model comes with a ‘Classic Cockpit’ as well as conventional glass side mirrors as standard.
There’s also the addition of the new 10-inch Multimedia Cockpit with multifunction steering wheel that’s in the current Actros generation.
The new Predictive Powertrain Control is another optional feature that calibrates the automatic gear shift according to a topography-adapted driving style and therefore enables additional fuel savings in combination with a precisely tuned shifting strategy.
