Thermo King has launched Advancer, the company’s next generation trailer refrigeration unit suitable for trailers up to 15.6m in length.
The new range, comprising of the A-360, A-400, and A-500 models, comes with telematics hardware and a new intelligent controller as standard, supported by two years of free connectivity.
Thermo King tells us the refrigeration unit comes with a 30 per cent fuel saving and a payback time of 24 months.
“With Advancer we went back to the drawing board and asked ourselves what does the future look like?” said David O’Gorman, senior product manager at Thermo King. “We asked customers to tell us what they needed to work better, to win more business, and to cut their cost of operation. The result is a game changing solution we believe our customers are waiting for.”
A key feature of the new range is fully variable airflow, independent of the unit’s motor speed, which Thermo King said gives the fastest pull down of any trailer fridge, 40 per cent faster than the best of the rest.
The Advancer’s 48V mild hybrid architecture, with integrated solar power, features simplified construction, which results in a 60 per cent reduction in unscheduled downtime, confirmed by two years and over a million kilometres of field trials around the world.
The Advancer units are manufactured in Thermo King’s zero waste to landfill plant in Galway. The newly designed, state-of-the-art production line uses 60 per cent less energy than the production process of previous Thermo King trailer products.
Thermo King is represented in Ireland by Ballinlough Refrigeration.
