Dublin Bus gets the full sanitisation treatment

Dublin Bus has contracted leading Irish‐owned soft services organisation, Momentum Support to provide specialised cleaning services across its premises and fleet of buses in order to ensure the safety of employees and passengers during the current Covid‐19 pandemic.

As a result, the company has created new full‐time positions to deliver essential specialised cleaning services for Dublin Bus.

Following the onset of Covid‐19 and associated government restrictions, Momentum Support implemented an enhanced cleaning regime whereby every bus in the Dublin Bus fleet is sanitised on a nightly basis across eight different depot locations. Specifically, this involves the sanitisation of all frequently touched surfaces on a bus including handrails, ticket machines, card readers, seat grab rails, bell push buttons and the driver’s cab area.

More recently, a further enhanced cleaning regime was introduced whereby Momentum Support mobilised a team of trained operatives to provide day‐time sanitisation of buses at 24 bus termini locations throughout Dublin City. Similar sanitisation regimes were also introduced at the company’s various office locations.

Momentum Support has developed smart, innovative measures to ensure that all buses can be fully and properly sanitised without impacting negatively on Dublin Bus’s schedules or timetables. This is achieved by having Operatives present at the relevant bus termini as buses pull in and pull out throughout each day. Operatives undergo training and are supplied with cleaning chemicals and materials, personal protective equipment and also liaise closely with Dublin Bus employees.
