Emovis has Irish toll roads contract extended

Mobility solutions provider Emovis has had its Interoperability Management Services Provider (IMSP) contract extended by two years by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).

Emovis manages the IMSP hub and facilitates payments between the toll tag service providers used by drivers and the toll chargers for Irish toll roads. Emovis delivers these services on behalf of TII through the eToll brand.

According to Emovis, there are over 830k toll tags in operation in Irish vehicles today. The Interoperability system allows all Irish tag holders to travel on toll roads and pay for all tolls through their tag, regardless of which tag service provider they are with. This facilitates seamless and convenient journeys for road users.

Emovis has operated the IMSP system since 2013, and manages on average 56 million tag transactions per annum.

The operation of Ireland’s tolling interoperability system involves operating closely with TII, as well as the country’s 11 toll chargers and three tag service providers.
