Innovative last-mile solution to enter service in Ireland

Parcel delivery company DPD has taken delivery of 10 electric assist cargo bikes from Oxfordshire-based manufacturer EAV. One will be put in service in Ireland.

The EAV P1 is bio-mechanical hybrid electric-assisted pedal bike designed as a final mile delivery solution.

DPD will test five of the bikes on the streets of London, York and Newbury, while the other five will be shipped to DPD business units in Ireland, Spain, Germany, Portugal and France.

DPD plans to have a fleet of 500 electric vehicles by the end of 2020.
