Another amazing heavy lift to shout about

I always get good feedback about Collett Transport, when we highlight some of their heavy haulage projects & heavy lift operations – stories to shout about.

The first of three transformers leaves Stafford safely secured in their girder bridge.

Having never utilised their girder bridge to transport transformers from this Stafford manufacturing facility in the past, we mobilised to the West Midlands. Arriving in modular form at the site, the Collett team constructed the girder bridge before loading the 216 tonne cargo.

Departing site on Sunday, their team travelled the 35 miles to overnight at Davenport. Under police and private escort throughout, the following day the convoy completed the journey to Ellesmere Port, concluding the 70 mile journey and offloading the transformer to the port storage area.

The Collett team then returned to Stafford to undertake the second movement, with the third scheduled to follow.

Collett Transport employs over 150 people across four depots and runs a diverse fleet of trucks and trailers. They provide all the expertise and equipment associated with abnormal load heavy transport, general haulage, heavy lift, and marine services.

It is also involved in transport consulting on a worldwide basis for the renewable energy, aerospace and aviation, power generation, environmental systems, heavy engineering, oil and gas processes and civil and infrastructure industries.

In 2017, the company launched a new subsidiary company Collett (Ireland) Ltd.
