Opel/Vauxhall has appointed a new head of its light commercial unit as it pursues very ambitious growth plans for the business. Belgian, Pascal Martens, will move from his role as Opel’s Director of Sales on this Friday (Nov. 1.)
PSA Group, which took-over Opel from General Motors two years ago, currently dominates the LCV market in Europe with a 25 per cent market share.
Under PSA, Opel is now aiming to increase its LCV sales by more than 25 per cent by 2022 under its PACE turnaround plan.
Last year, PSA launched a new family of car-derived vans, the Peugeot Partner, Citroen Berlingo and Opel/Vauxhall Combo. Their range now covers most LCV business requirements, with a wide range of body styles with various combinations of payloads (650 – 1,000 kg) and length (4.4 – 4.75 m).
